Dual Monitor Work From Home Setup for Productivity

The Desk: FlexiSpot E7 Standing Desk at $549

I chose the FlexiSpot E7 Standing Desk for its stability at standing height. Dual monitors add significant weight to the frame. The E7’s dual-motor, steel frame handles that load without wobble. The height memory presets mean switching between sitting and standing takes one button press. I set preset 1 for sitting at 28 inches, preset 2 for standing at 44 inches. I switch at least twice a day. The habit matters for long remote work days.

Cable management with a standing desk requires extra planning. The Cable Spine at $35 routes the monitor cables, power, and USB hub inside a vertical sleeve that moves with the desk. The VIVO Under Desk Cable Tray at $19 holds the power strip and cable excess under the desk surface, invisible from the front.

The Monitors: Dell U2723DE x2 at $958 Total

I chose the Dell U2723DE 27-inch Monitor and bought two. At $479 each, they’re among the best value 27-inch productivity displays. The key spec: USB-C with 90W power delivery. I run my laptop in clamshell through the left monitor’s USB-C port. One cable connects the laptop to the full setup. The right monitor connects via HDMI. The USB hub built into each U2723DE provides four additional ports per display. No separate hub needed.

The Ergotron LX Dual Monitor Arm at $279 holds both panels. The dual arm clamps to the desk edge and extends both monitors to eye height. The desk surface below is completely clear. This matters for dual-monitor setups: without an arm, two monitor stands occupy 20 inches of depth.

Video Calls: Logitech C920 ($99) and Blue Yeti Nano ($99)

Remote work means video calls. I put real money into how I look and sound on camera. The Logitech C920 Webcam at $99 is the standard for business video quality. 1080p at 30fps with autofocus and auto white balance. I mount it on top of the left monitor. The Blue Yeti Nano Microphone at $99 sits to the left of my keyboard on a small stand. The cardioid pattern captures my voice clearly and rejects keyboard noise behind it. These two investments changed how colleagues perceive my calls.

Peripherals and Ergonomics

The Keychron Q1 Pro Keyboard is a compact mechanical keyboard with Bluetooth. The Logitech MX Master 3S Mouse handles all-day use with a comfortable grip and the best scroll wheel available. The BenQ ScreenBar Monitor Light clips to the left monitor and lights the desk without screen glare.

The Footrest Under Desk at $19 is underrated. At a sitting desk height of 28 inches, my feet don’t fully rest flat. The footrest corrects this. Posture improves over a full workday.

The IKEA SKADIS Pegboard at $25 mounts to the wall above the desk. Phone, headphones, and small accessories hang there instead of accumulating on the desk surface.

What I’d Change

The Blue Yeti Nano picks up room echo in untreated spaces. I added a small foam panel behind my chair, which helped. A dedicated boom arm for the microphone would free up the desk surface. I’m also considering swapping one Dell U2723DE for a 32-inch model as the primary. The 27-inch panel feels slightly small when working with dense spreadsheets across both screens simultaneously.
